Discovering ‘You’

The journey to true self discovery could be a very rewarding or frustrating one.  The journey will be rewarding if you have come to the realization that you are more than you have already become. On the other hand it could be  frustrating if you think that you have arrived and there is nothing more about yourself that needs to be discovered, especially if you have always believe that the ‘you’ you have been is the true you.

So many times the person that you believe you are does not even come close to the person you were created to be.  This is so because we tend to live out what others tell us about ourselves.

All the labels that have been assigned to us by those around us become our identity and so, we buy into them and make them our reality.  The result is that we live a life way below our true self and our true potential.

Begin the journey of discovering yourself.  Stop trying to fit every one’s description or label of you and discover who you really are, the you God had in mind when He put you together in the womb.

Wherever you may be on the journey of life, remember that there is more to you than meets the eye.  You are more than you have already become.

Begin today.  You are worth the effort.

Something Happens

Every time we open our mouth and speak, something happens.  We may not be aware of it, but being aware of it or not does not stop the Law of the Power of Words to take effect.  The world that we inhabit was created by words and we,  God’s highest creation, who were made in His image, also carry in our DNA the power to create through our words.

Every time we opens our mouths and speak, something happens.

The words that come out of our mouths determine whether something positive or negative would happen.

If you find yourself facing difficult situations continuously, then you may need to take an inventory of the words that you are speaking daily.  Stop speaking the way you have been and see the drastic changes that would occur in your life.

Start a new diet today: a diet of positive words.  Make some positive proclamations over your life and watch those proclamations produce the opposite of what you have been experiencing.

Things will not all change over night.  As with every diet, you have to remain committed and consistent if you want to lose the weight of negativity that has been plaguing your life.

Remember, the Law of the Power of Words is in effect.  Choose your words wisely, speak your words positively and reap what you speak daily.

Blessings.

The Power of Your Words

Do you know that everything that exists in the world today was created by words?   As a firm believer in the tenets of the Christian faith, I believe every word found in the bible and the bible clearly states that God spoke everything into existence. He said, “Let there be light!” And there was light. Genesis 1

We, too, must understand that we have the power, given by God, the One who made us in His image and likeness, to speak things into existence.

Have you ever realized that when you speak negative things, that negative things do happen? For example, when you say things like “I feel like I am getting sick.” That you do end up getting ill?

Life and death is indeed in the power of your tongue.

It is so much easier for people to speak negative words into their situations than to speak positively. It takes faith to look at a terrible circumstance and say something positive about it. It takes a greater effort to speak positive words than to speak negative words.

It seems almost natural for people to always see the worst, think the worst, believe the worst and speak the worst when confronted with challenges and difficulties.

How many times have you said when faced with a challenge: “I can’t do this.” “I will never get over this.”  “This one is too hard.”

And because there is power in your words, exactly what you say is what happened. You did not do it. You did not get over it. You did not succeed.

You can stop that today. Change your words so that your life can change. Go on a fast from negative speaking like you would go on a fast from food.

Start by believing positive things so that you can think positively and so speak positively. Start today.  Begin right now to  confess positive words over your life right now and see the positive words come to pass.

There is great power in your words. Use your words wisely.

Don’t Quit!!

The true story is told of an entrepreneur who wanted to start a business.  She did all her research, formulated her plans and went off to the bank with the proposal.  Having good credit scores and all the necessary documents, she was confident that she would be granted the loan.

Imagine her surprise when she was denied.  She tried another bank and another bank and another bank.  Thirty four of them in all and they all denied her request for a loan.

Would you have given up by now?     She visited still another bank and guess what?  She was granted the loan on the thirty fifth effort.  Today the business is lucrative and productive.  She believed in her vision and endured to the end.

She refused to quit.  She refused to let the thirty four “Nos” stop her from realizing her dream.

What about you?

Are you a quitter?  Do you give up at the first sign of failure or challenges?

Do you have what it takes to  get back up  after a fall and continue to run the race of life?

The world is filled with people who gave up just before the breakthrough came in their lives.  One more step, one more effort, one more interview, one more phone call  may  have been the one.

Remember my friend, that failure is a part of life.  It is the main ingredient in the dish called SUCCESS.

Stop quitting and get back in the game of life.  You have what it takes to make it.  You were born to win, and destined for greatness.

Learn from your mistakes. Learn what not to do the next time.  Apply what you learn and watch yourself grow.

Whatever it takes, promise yourself that you will not QUIT.  You have too much to gain, you just can’t quit!!

What is impossible?

Recently I was pondering on the word ‘impossible’.  So many people are saying that this or that is impossible. The more I looked at the word, though, is  the more I saw the word  ‘possible’ within it. Then it dawned on me;  there is possible in impossible.

Whatever looks impossible contains the ability to become possible.

There is really no hopeless situation.  When people say that the situation is hopeless, they are really saying that they have given up hope.  They have become hopeless, not the situation.  They cannot see any possibility in what they consider to be an impossible situation.

Let me encourage you today.  There is no hopeless or impossible situation if you have faith in God. Everything is possible with God.

There is a verse of scripture that is dear to my heart; Ephesians 3:20 “ Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work in us, to accomplish infinitely more than we ask or think.” NLT

The power that is at work in us is the power of God.  That power is great and mighty and able to do all things.  This is what I think of the word ‘impossible’.

 I – In

M– Me, there is a

P – Power to

O – Overcome

S – Situations and

S –  Setbacks that

I – Interrupt and

B – Block my

L – Life in

E – Every way.

Let us go forward, believing that we have the power within us, to turn what looks impossible into possible.  Let us use that God given power and become mountain movers.

The Speed of Time

Are you like me, wondering what is happening with Time?  It seems as if before I can get my feet off the bed that the day is almost done.  Time is speeding and there is nothing that we could do to stop it.

What we can do though, is to ensure that we do not waste Time.  We must be very constructive as to what we do with our Time, in what we invest our Time, where we spend our Time and with whom we spend our Time.

There are many resources on earth that are renewable but Time is not one of them.  Time wasted or lost is never regain.  There will never be another January 1, 2014.  That day and time is gone forever, never to return.

Determine today,  not to waste another second of your Time.  Time is too valuable to be squandered on toxic relationships, negative thinking, evil meditation and  activities that do nothing to enhance your quality of life or the lives of others.

Use your Time wisely.  Make your Time count.   Don’t waste Time counting the minutes or hours that are available. Ensure that the Time you have is wisely used.

At the end of your day you must be able to say with peace in your heart that the Time that was given to you  this day as a gift, was well spent.  You did what you had to do with kindness and love and although the time went by quickly much was accomplished.

Be wise with your Time.  Do not waste another second of it again.

A Favoured and Blessed New Year to all!

Happy-new-year-2014

As 2013 comes to a close, I reflect on all the mountains and valleys that I have experienced on this journey called life and I am amazed.

Truly the human spirit is much more resilient and resourceful than we can imagine.  So many times I thought that I could not make it, and I did.  So many times I thought that it would not get better, and it did.  So many times I said that I had lost, but truly I had won.

I have learnt so much, done so much, achieved so much, endured so much, prayed so much, shared so much, given so much and received so much.

2013 was indeed a year that I would never forget.

What should we expect for 2014?

Un-imaginable blessings.  Extra- ordinary opportunities.  Exciting adventures.   Indescribable joy and abundance of peace.

May 2014 exceeds our wildest expectations.  May the best that God has be ours as we continue to seek Him and serve Him faithfully.

Let us enter the New Year knowing that we are favoured and blessed by the Almighty God. Let us look up, look forward, while looking inward.   The best days of our life are ahead of us.

2013 is over.  Thank God for everything. Regret nothing. All that happened was necessary for our journey.

May you and I  be all that we can be and experience all that we have to experience in 2014.

Much love and blessings.

Meaning of Christmas

nativity

What does Christmas really mean to you as an individual?  Is it just a time for friends, family and loved ones to exchanges gifts, eat delicious food and enjoy each other’s company?  All of that is good, but for me there is a deeper meaning to Christmas.

Yes I know it is the time when Christians and non – Christians alike celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  That in itself is a wonderful reason to be a part of the Christmas season.  However, unless what we celebrate relates to our individual lives, we would soon forget its importance.   So I have coined an acronym that helps me to remember why I celebrate Christmas.

C – Christ came to earth to experience my life so that I could one day experience His

H – He made it possible for me to be change and become like Him

R– Remembering me he died on a tree

I – Interceding for me he will always be

S – Substituting His perfect life for my sinful one

T – Taking my place, saying it is already done

M – Making himself of low degree

A – Atonement was his only plea

S – Sing Hallelujah, Christmas signifies the birth of my Saviour.

As we celebrate this joyous time, let us remember that there is more to be had, more to be learnt and more to be experienced. God does everything for a specific purpose.  The birth of His Son  Jesus is for you and  me to experience real freedom.   Freedom in and through God.

Have a Blessed Christmas, one and all.

Get over it!!

Are you using your energy to believe, to prosper and to become all that you were designed to become or are you using your energy to worry, to hate or  to suffer from anxiety and disappointment?

Are you expecting blessings  and good things from life and from people or are you just barely existing and surviving?

Many of us  expect the worst instead of the best because of our past experiences.

So many times we expected the best and the worst happened so that now we sort of prepare ourselves for the worst and if something good should happen then we are surprised.

This is not the way that God wants us to live.

Yes, many bad things happen and cause us pain and discouragement but we have to develop the  ‘bounce back attitude’ and try as quickly as we could to get over what has happened.

If we don’t we would not be hurting anyone but ourselves.   We would be existing instead of thriving and prospering.

Now is the time to get over what has happened so that you could begin to live again.

Get over the disappointment and start to believe again.  Get over the hurt and begin to trust again.  Get over the failure and pursue your dream again.  Get over the betrayal and rejection and learn to love again.  Get over the bad things that happened and start to expect good and positive things to happen again.

Develop the bounce back attitude and start again.

Whatever it is that has you living life below the standard, get over it with the help of God and begin to live again.  Start today!  Start right now!

Whatever has happened has happened.  You may not be able to change what happened, but you have the power within you to get over it.

Make the choice.  Follow through with your decision to get over it and watch the world open up new and powerful opportunities to you.

it starts and ends with you, so get over it and begin to live again.

Staying afloat

In the world today, everything and almost everyone seems to drowning.  What was once considered stability is now as fragile and moveable as the clouds in the sky.  People we once admired  or emulated are crumbling  faster than we can blink.

How do we maintain our focus and keep ourselves from making the same mistakes that are common to so many others?

How do we stay afloat when drowning seems inevitable?

The answer lies in our belief system.  For many people that means many things, but for me it means Jesus Christ.

Many speculations and allegations were and still are leveled against Him, but they are still awaiting proof.  His teachings have stood the test of time and we who truly live by them are living testimonies of their wisdom, their solidness and their ability to sustain one even in the most trying of times.

Staying grounded in a world that is drifting away from anything morally sound or good is of vital importance.  At the end of the day, you must make the choice to stay afloat or drown with everyone else.

You must make the decision that you would do whatever is necessary to maintain your stability and your focus.  The strength and courage that you need to make that decision can be found in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

He is the anchor that keeps you,  He is the ark that protects you from the floods of life.  He is the wisdom that guides you and the courage that strengthens you.  Everything you need to stay afloat in this crazy, unsteady world is found in Him, not in a religion but in a relationship.

Connect with Jesus today and stay afloat.
